Saddam Hussein Trial Verdict
Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to hang by the neck until dead. Story HERE.
Interesting tid-bit that's buried deep in the article:
|
Before the session began, one of Saddam's lawyers, former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, was ejected from the courtroom after handing the judge a memorandum in which he called the trial a travesty. Chief Judge Raouf Abdul-Rahman pointed to Clark and said in English, "Get out." |
The point is made in the story that Saddam Hussein was, in large part, convicted by his governments own records of atrocities, which included the hanging of children.
Saddam was tried and convicted, in a public trial, by an Iraqi court, under Iraqi law. His sentence will be automatically appealed.
I do hope the appeals court upholds the conviction and the sentence.
Saddam doing Danny Deever?
Good.
