A Foul Crime Prevented

OK - go, and read THIS.

You back? You did read it, right?

Now then, I can tell you exactly why Mr. Anonymous Hero didn't hang around: He did NOT want to spend 'leventy-dozen hours explaining to the cops, the DA, and the Outraged Press just why he prevented a murder by pulling out a pistol and stopping the perp-wannabe from actually committing his foul deed. Mr. A. Hero did his good deed, and then went home.

I'm not kidding about the word "foul" - the crime would have been most infamous, and foul indeed.

Tip o'the hat to Kim du Toit, HERE.
